David started his career at Nomura in 1992 working in the Eurobond market where he successfully built their franchise across a number of currencies. In 1998 he moved to Greenwich Natwest as a Proprietary Trader focusing on investment grade credit. Following the RBS and Natwest merger in 2000 he became Head of Proprietary Trading and a member of the Capital Markets Management Committee. As RBS sought to expand its business in capital markets he became Head of Corporate Trading, building their flow credit trading business.
In 2005 he joined Cheyne Capital as a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Long Only Credit Funds; the funds were invested across the ratings spectrum in global corporate credit. During his time at Cheyne he managed several award winning funds, achieving class leading returns during the global financial crisis.
